The CrossFit Open Begins!

As you are all aware, at CHALKBOX, we like to make the open a fun, community-focused event where we can come together, push ourselves a little outside of our comfort zones, meet new people, and simply have fun! This year's CF Open at CHALKBOX will be a team competition; you can earn points for your team by participating in the workouts and participating in the fun weekly challenges! Each week will bring a new challenge, so the more you participate in the fun, the more points you can earn for your team!

Everyone will be assigned to a team and a team colour, and each team will be led by a coach. The team captain will be on hand to assist you, answer any questions you may have about the CF Open or the workouts, and coordinate the weekly challenges!

For the first week's challenge, you can earn extra points for your team by wearing items that match the colour of your team and taking pictures! By wearing your team colours, you'll be able to easily identify your teammates and introduce yourself to members you may not have met yet!

Once you've found your teammates, take as many photos as you can, post them on social media, and tag CHALKBOX! (Instagram: chalk.box). The photos can be of you and your teammates, or of you and your teammates doing the workouts. You will receive one point for each image in which Chalk.Box is tagged! The coloured items you wear can be anything, such as coloured socks, t-shirts, headbands, shorts, etc. You will receive one point for each correctly coloured item you wear! Before you ask, a pair of coloured socks is only worth one point, not two ;)

It's not too late to sign up for the CF Open if you haven't already! Simply sign up and we will place you on a team!

We can't wait to see you all dressed up in your team colours for the first workout on Saturday!




OUR program cycle:

In the coming weeks, we will be preparing for the CrossFit Open. We will mix up the days this time and won’t have set days for set workouts. What we will be doing:

  • 2 Days of Barbell Cycling Practice

  • 1 Day of Gymnastic Skill Practise

  • 1 Day CrossFit Open WOD

  • 1 Day a long workout

  • 1 Day a HIIT Workout

  • and on the Sundays, we will repeat our “Big Sexy” series
