The goal of Olympic lifts is to improve explosive power, and everyone can benefit from it. It trains your body to transfer force from the ground to overhead.

All sports require different amounts of muscle synchronization, balance, flexibility, and coordination as well as strength, speed, power, and metabolic development. Olympic weightlifting provides development in all these areas. That's why practising the Snatch and Clean & Jerk is complementary not only to CrossFitters but to a whole range of different sports. In other words it helps to develop your overall fitness.

At ChalkBox we offer Olympic Weight Lifting session every Wednesday and Sunday. These sessions are for everyone with any skill level from the novice to trained athlete.

These sessions are led by experienced Oly Lifting coaches all with a passion for the sports. Jason Summers is leading the programming for the sessions and is a very accomplished lifter. Those who have attended his session will recognise his drive to teach you Olympic Weight Lifting in a safe and skill full way.
